Assessment Tools
Excellence is best achieved when library services match local community needs, interests and priorities. Therefore, undertaking a process by which a local community’s assets and needs can be identified is seen as a critical step before implementation of any new program, service or community engagement response. For the Transforming Life After 50 initiative a customized assessment tool, Library Engagement Assessment Process or LEAP, was specifically designed for the Boomer target population. All the materials related to the LEAP assessment tool are provided below. A variety of other assessment tools exist as well to assist libraries and links to these resources are provided below whenever possible. Additional resources are also available through the Resources section of this Web site.
